Written by John Aitken, author of Deskford: a lower Banffshire parish, ‘The Cullen Book’ has taken him 6 years to research, using 116 books, and 134 booklets, articles and leaflets, plus 26 maps and many historic documents. It features almost 100 old photos.

Published by Cullen, Deskford and Portknockie Heritage Group, the book will likely go on sale in October at a cost of £25.

However, for advance sales the book only costs £20, and those who buy in advance will have their names listed in the book as subscribers.

To buy in advance and have your name included, please print and complete this form then take it in a sealed envelope with the correct money (cash or cheque only) to the Heritage Centre in Cullen, any day of the week 10.30am to 4.30pm except Wednesday.

John Aitken has been a resident in Cullen since 2023, and for more than 20 years before that in Deskford. He is a Trustee and former President of the Cullen Deskford and Portknockie Heritage Group. He was formerly Rector of Keith Grammar School and has been retired since 2010. His previous book is long out of print, but digital copies are available via the Banffshire Field Club.
